Formalise the responsibilities associated with overseeing and supporting the internship programme

Suggested Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that mentor teachers and interns are meeting regularly
  • Track intern progress
  • Support mentor teachers where needed
  • Keep school leadership informed about the internship programme
  • Meet and correspond with Realema
  • Ensure that interns are included in relevant professional development sessions
  • Ensure that mentor–intern agreements have been signed

Suggested Responsibilities:

  • Model effective teaching strategies
  • Meet with interns each week
  • Support lesson planning
  • Give feedback on teaching practice
  • Provide encouragement and professional guidance
